Hello! I'm Erik Gustafson - a soon to be college graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. I am a self-driven learner who brings innovative ideas to the team. I learn new skills quickly and have several years of coding experience. In my free time, I enjoy backpacking and the outdoors. I also enjoy using my coding skills for leisure git - in my free time I like to create games using Unity 2D.

A bit about my work history...

Texas Instruments

Santa Clara, CA (REMOTE)

Product Engineering Intern

June 2021 - August 2021

  • Developed an application that automates device characterization given manufacturing process data, reducing the time it takes to characterize a device from three weeks to three hours
  • Created a script to automatically generate configuration files required for the die packaging process, automating a high-risk task where human error could result in a several week delay
  • Designed a tool to visualize the correlation of data collected at different points during manufacturing

The Ohio State University

August 2020 - May 2021

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Columbus, OH (REMOTE)

  • Improved the bitrate of an android acoustic communication library from 60 bits/s to 150 bits/s
  • Created a media access control layer for the library, allowing many devices to split the usable spectrum
  • Developed a testing procedure, android application, and webserver to automate data collection
  • Documented the protocol in a technical report including an analysis of the data collected

PNC Financial Services

Pittsburgh, PA (REMOTE)

Software Security Intern

June 2020 - August 2020

  • Created a web-app that parses Microsoft Threat modeling files into risk analysis tool SDElements, automating a 2-hour process and saving PNC 200 hours annually while increasing security
  • Developed a mobile app that allows college students to seamlessly split reoccurring payments, this application won the 2019 PNC S.T.E.A.M Codefest

  • Developed an inventory management application that allowed for group modification of a database, organizing company assets by creating an interface to a centralized database
  • Helped maintain a series of android applications by adding new futures and fixing bugs
